Linksys's VPN wireless gateway, the WRV54G, has setting to turn unit into Boingo hot spot: I was unaware of this feature in the new $230 VPN gateway.
Apparently, I've got a firmware version that wasn't intended to be public yet. However, it's numbered and dated identically with the firmware found on Linksys's site (version 2.03).

So do you know if this is a feature that we can expect to see in future public firmware releases?
Also, unrelated, but I'm curious to know whether the WRV54G runs linux like the WRT54G.
Not "like the WRT54G", but much better. The OS is Jungo's OpenRG, based on Montavista Linux. The hardware is PrismGT so there are (mostly) open drivers for the chipset. Notably, there is an extra minipci slot on the XScale-powered board. No more fighting Broadcom's crap.
