Two Chicago McDonald's Bridge Digital Divide, Offer Free Wi-Fi

This is a very smart move for McDonalds and its franchisers. It establishes its brand as an innovator in technology for the community. It has the foresight to see how new social structures/services are emerging via wi-fi and other network technologies. It will make this technology very understandable through high accessibility and visibility. (Where do you see active demonstrations of 1x?) They'll come a time where you'll automatically ask how to find the nearest McDonalds, because you need Internet access.
