Late this August, a trailer loaded with wireless equipment and a crew of altrustic hackers are going to drive up to the temporary autonomous zone, city, and art festival known as Burning Man. From August 26th through September 2nd, the project known as the Roam-Net Public Access Trailer seeks to provide public terminals to the 27,000 person event. In the future, the trailer will visit remote locations, schools, and other events to either expand or create wireless community networks. This group of hackers seek to push the limits of wearable, nomadic, and wireless computing by using exisiting and custom built open source software with donated hardware. If interested in joining this group, or to invite the trailer to your area, please contact nym at nym@espians.com.
